PSHE
Personal, Social, Health Education is an integral part of our curriculum. We aim to equip our pupils with the skills they need to lead a healthy and happy life and to achieve their best. This is a crucial part of a young person's education and gives our pupils essential information about themselves and the diverse world around them, preparing them to navigate life with confidence and integrity.
Our Intent
We have designed our PSHE curriculum so that our pupils develop themselves intellectually, morally, socially and spiritually and acquire the skills, knowledge and attributes they need to keep themselves physically and emotionally healthy and safe and that they are able to build postive relationships. We empower them to become global citizens who care about the people and world around them, ready for life beyond Godolphin and equipped with the skills needed to live in the wider world.
Implementation
We have an experienced and dedicated team of PSHE teachers, with specialisms in health, wellbeing, careers and relationships and sex education (RSE), who deliver the core themes of Health and Wellbeing, Relationships and Living in the Wider World. These sessions encourage reflection, discussion, and practical application, helping pupils to develop resilience, self-awareness, and an ethical mindset.
Assessment
Pupils' prior knowledge is assessed at the beginning of each module and measured against their progress at the end of each topic to inform future teaching.
Impact
By teaching our pupils to stay safe and healthy, and by building self-esteem, resilience and empathy, our PSHE programme helps pupils to develop the skills and qualities they need to thrive now and in the future.
