Godolphin has a bespoke assessment which every candidate will be invited to complete approximately 12 months prior to entry.
Godolphin Sixth entry is based on an interview and written papers, usually in each of a candidate’s proposed subjects. We also ask their existing Head for a reference and, if taking (I)GCSE examinations, each candidate will be expected to gain a minimum of five subjects at grade B/5 or above with a minimum of A/7 grades in those subjects the candidate wishes to study in Godolphin Sixth.
All students already at Godolphin have already earned their place in Godolphin Sixth.
Our bespoke post-16 curriculum is tailored around the needs and interests of each student. The Fourth Year Godolphin Sixth Discovery Day provides an initial opportunity for students to explore their choices, and in the Fifth Year they can finalise their decision at the Godolphin Sixth Open Evening. Option choices are made in February when students will have a one-to-one interview with a transition tutor whose job is to make sure they have explored all options and are making the right decisions. We don’t use option blocking when students are selecting their A-levels, but instead devise a new timetable each year to reflect the year group’s choices. This means that most students can study whatever combination of subjects they choose.
