English as an Additional Language (EAL)
International pupils are assessed for their ability in English language when they apply for a place at Godolphin. This test focuses on grammar, writing, speaking and listening. The level of EAL support then varies depending on the pupil’s individual needs.
Lessons are usually one-on-one, tailored around individual needs and scheduled to fit within a pupils School timetable. The focus of the lesson ranges from lesson support, where the pupil receives help with subject specific terminology and/or cultural references, to the general improvement of her English or preparation for university education.
