Thirty girls were introduced to the rigours of Dartmoor over the weekend!
Based out of Okehampton Battle Camp they had the best start on Saturday with glorious sunshine, only light winds and very reasonable temperatures giving them the feeling that Dartmoor really is a nice place for a walk!
All change on Sunday - waking up (in their tents) to snow blowing in horizontally was a very different scenario - and did indeed dampen the spirits for a short while. However, another cookhouse breakfast rejuvenated the girls and despite a bitterly cold wind they completed their introduction to navigating and expeditions on Dartmoor in good order and are now looking forward to the Ten Tors selection process - with 30 girls vying for 24 places.
