On the first Saturday of half term Mr Pannell took a group of girls to the British Schools Biathlon Championships at Bath University. Students had worked hard during lockdown to enter their swim and run times virtually, and were rewarded with the opportunity to compete on this national stage in an inspiring venue, and in the presence of the Olympic gold medal winning Pentathletes from Tokyo this year. The girls all put in stellar performances and represented the School brilliantly, pushing themselves to the limit in a bid to be crowned national champion, and there were some outstanding results.
A special mention must go to Imani Payne who finished 8th nationally, Ellie Chalk who came 10th nationally, and Eva Pragnell, who despite tripping and falling in her run managed to catch the field up and come third in heat – what an example of determination! A huge well done to all the girls who took part, and good luck to those competing in next years National Schools qualifier in November.
