Of the nine Godolphin ensembles to enter the 2018 Pro Corda Chamber Music Festival, one, the U12 String Quartet, was selected to take part in the Final. The girls played very well and really enjoyed the wonderful experience. Matthew Jones, the adjudicator, complimented the girls on their ensemble playing, good range of dynamics and ability to crescendo and decrescendo as one.

Godolphin Music Department is thrilled to have been awarded the ‘Pro Corda Special Prize’, a shield awarded each year to a music department who has made a particular contribution to the year’s Chamber Music Festival and also to chamber music education nationally. The judges felt that Godolphin “ups its game” each year and are constantly impressed at the effort, results, and dedication achieved.

I am passionate about chamber music and about providing opportunities for our instrumentalists to take part in ensembles so I am particularly delighted that we have received this accolade.
