Shelter For Life!
On Friday the STEM Skills Lab teams were using their ingenuity to build and test a shelter that might survive the aftermath of a hurricane.
Each group were given a slightly different brief, and were then let loose to plan and build their solution.
Mr Conner was in charge of the shop, and Mr Pocklington (who planned the whole session) wielded the hurricane / leaf blower to test the outcomes to destruction!
It was a really intense but fun session, where the girls learned about the aerodynamics of structures, and displayed some impressive team-work under pressure, (with only two Lego mini-figures being injured in the course of the testing!)
We are now all looking forward to Dr Hillman's turn in February...
