Last term the English Department ran the Godolphin round of the national Poetry by Heart competition. Girls had to choose, learn and perform two poems - harder during these times as they had to record them too. Many congratulations to the winners Betty B and Grace R.

English Teacher, Mrs Tarring, who ran the event commented "we were really delighted that despite the challenges of bubbles and social distancing, girls still found time to enjoy reading and learning poetry. Often, the things we learn as young people stay with us for the rest of our lives so hopefully the girls will remember these poems many years from now. It was a real pleasure hearing the entries."

Betty and Grace will now compete in the national competition later this year.
