International Women’s Day 2018 service at St Thomas’s Church
‘Women Take Centre Stage
Salisbury’s International Women’s Day service went ahead as planned at St Thomas’s Church on Thursday. The service – to which all were welcome – was a celebration of women’s gifts of music, words and ministry, and involved nearly 50 schoolgirls and women from the area. The entire service was composed, written, led and performed by women. The service was led by Revd Wendy Cooper of St Thomas’s Church, and the sermon was delivered by Revd Ana Gobledale of the United Reformed Church. The service was devised by Louise Stewart, creative director of Multitude of Voyces, Juliet Brain and Revd Wendy Cooper. Music was provided by Godolphin Vocal Ensemble and Salisbury’s International Women’s Day choir.’
