Godolphin girls making history with their first every rugby game!

Rugby 08 02 2022 90

On Tuesday, our Fifth Years played in the first ever competitive rugby match against Wyvern St Edmunds in Salisbury. Godolphin teamed up with Stonehenge School from Amesbury to create a squad of players with a range of rugby experience. This was a full contact rugby match with scrums, lineouts, crunching tackles and flying runners!

Our Godolphin girls did themselves proud, showing true grit and determination to play against more experienced opposition. Fran, Alice, Immy and Kiki threw in some tremendous tackles throughout, but every single player contributed to some fantastic defence.

In the end, Wyvern St Edmunds ran out 25-10 winners. A special mention for Tiana who scored Godolphin’s first ever try with a mazy run to touch down under the posts. Thanks to Mrs Wilson, Madame Daubeney and Upper Sixth student Beth Wilson for coming along to support!
