Godolphin Competitive Sport resumes!
Following on from the great start to the season in Bath, our senior lacrosse teams have continued to put in tireless and committed performances. Last weekend, we travelled to Cheltenham Ladies College for a triangular against them and Queen Annes Reading. It was fantastic to be back into tournament play, with our U14s, U15, and Senior lax teams all winning matches. At home, our U12s played their first ever match against Queen Annes and whilst the result didn’t go their way, this was a really promising performance and we look forward to how they develop during the course of the season.
Midweek last week saw our hockey and netball teams in action against St Marys Calne and Bishop Wordsworths School respectively. The 1st XI got the season off to a flyer with an 8-1 victory, and our age group teams also went through the week unbeaten with matches at St Marys and Clayesmore. In netball, the Senior 1sts beat Bishops in an inspiration netball match – it was a true game of two halves! Whilst Bishops were dominant in the first half, going up 7-21, Godolphin showed grit and passion to make a come back in the second half to win the match overall 36-29. Brilliant!
Cross-country gets underway this week. Special mention for our Godolphin Prep who play their first lacrosse festival on Wednesday afternoon from 2pm onwards. If you have a chance to support them please do so!
