On Friday 4 March we took a party of Fourth Year GCSE students to view the collection at the Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford. The trip was to enable the students to obtain source material for their third and last GCSE project. The students will be developing work based upon different starting points depending on their area of study.
Students used the museum to gather information about different cultures across the world. The unique way that the collection is displayed allowed the students to study genres of artefacts rather than see objects in chronological or regional order. Photographs, drawings and sketches will be developed back in the studio over the coming weeks.
