'An appreciation of the natural light that occurs in a forest on a sunny day.' Esme's wonderful photographs win Rotary Competition
Godolphin's Art Department suggests that each Art Scholar enter an art competition. Last year, Third Year student Esme W entered into the Salisbury Rotary Young Photographer competition.
The competition 'gives participants the chance to express themselves through photography, interpret the competition’s annual brief in an imaginative way and experiment with digital and traditional methods'.
The requirement was to submit a set of three photos depicting 'Wild Nature'. This was the regional stage of the competition. The next stage is District, where the same photos are submitted, then it moves on to National Finals.
Each entrant has to submit 3 photographs and supply a short sentence says how their photo link to the theme.
A huge well done to Esme who won the Intermediate (11-13 yrs) category!
The Rotary Club commented that 'Esme’s pictures all displayed an appreciation of the natural light that occurs in a forest on a sunny day. She used the dappled autumn light to great effect in a very cohesive set of prints.'
