A successful day at Wiltshire County Cross Country Running Trials!
On Saturday 15 January, ten Godolphin girls attended the Wiltshire County Cross Country Running Trials. Girls’ were competing against up to fifty others in their age category in a bid to represent Wiltshire at the South West Championships in February. Only the top ten girls in each age group would qualify, with 11th – 13th also qualifying as reserves.
Conditions were cold although thankfully not raining, and the girls covered between 2.3 – 3.8km depending on their age. Every girl ran brilliantly, with all Godolphin finishers coming in the top 30 athletes in their heat. A special mention must go to Alice T who qualified 5th and progresses to the next round for senior girls, Juliet L who finished 12th and will be second reserve for intermediate girls, and Amelia W who finished in 14th for the Junior girls, just outside of qualification.
