Godolphin drops Entrance Exam for their Prep pupils

Starting a new senior school is a big step and can be a daunting experience. This is without the stress of the exams to get you there.

In a bid to reduce sustained pressure on pupils and parents, Godolphin has dropped the requirement of an Entrance Exam for their Year 6 Prep pupils, who join in either Year 4 or Year 5, moving up to the Senior School.

Head of Godolphin Prep, Julia Miller and George Budd, Academic Deputy, are confident that the broad curriculum and regular monitoring and reporting already in place are rigorous enough to ensure that Godolphin Prep girls thrive in the Senior School.

Julia Miller says, “We are concerned about girls’ mental health and wellbeing and we believe this move will help us to reduce unnecessary testing and the pressure of tutoring. Our girls already have access to all facilities across the Godolphin site so are familiar with IT suites, Science Labs, Performing Arts Centre and the Art Block. These are just some of the benefits of being part of the whole Godolphin community.”
