A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon of Prep Cricket in the sunshine!
On Tuesday the Godolphin Prep Year 3/4 team visited St Francis School, Pewsey for their first cricket game of the season. The girls played pairs cricket – a form of the game which allows everyone to bowl, field and wicket keep. After stellar batting performances from Isabel and Elena, we took to the field to defend our lead. Brilliant bowling displays from Sophie, Tahmina and Elena really put the St Francis girls under pressure, while some excellent fielding from Grace, Isabel, Ottilie, Hattie and Florence kept the runs down well. The special moment in the game came from Tahmina who threw the ball and hit the stumps from 10 metres away to get their leading batter out! Amazing! In the end, Godolphin were beaten by 20 runs, but the game could have gone either way. It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and a great introduction to cricket for our girls.
