Service of Commemoration & Thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey
Pupils from our Upper Sixth, Governors, Staff, Parents and members of our Alumnae joined together for our annual Service of Thanksgiving and Commemoration for Elizabeth Godolphin, at Westminster Abbey today.
Over one hundred members of the Godolphin community were welcomed by Canon Jane Sinclair who also gave a bidding prayer. Our School Chaplain, the Revd. Dr Stella Wood, gave a thought provoking address. We enjoyed readings by Alice O’Rorke (Head Girl), Mrs Emma Hattersley (Head) and Mrs Jenny Greville-Heygate (President of the OGA) and Prayers by Elsa Head (Deputy Head Girl)
Members of the Upper Sixth performed the Motet “For Him All Stars Have Shone” by Bob Chilcott; and after the service, we joined for a final prayer and our Head Girl lay a wreath at the Elizabeth Godolphin Memorial.
