Godolphin students celebrate another superb year of A-level results
The wait is finally over and the Godolphin community is celebrating an impressive line up of excellent A-level results this morning.
Students with particularly high achievements include Ella Beckley, Eleanor Coles, Isobel Gilligan, Eloise Grant Goodey, Felicity Holme, Emma Jowett, Imogen Lee, Cici Li, Rosie O’Connor, Eleanor Pike and Violet Tetley.
87% of students achieved their first choice university destination including many at the world’s top universities - University of Oxford, Edinburgh, Newcastle University, University of Warwick and Durham University. 50% gained places at Russell Group universities.
The most popular courses for our students this year include Medical Sciences, Architecture, Art & Design, Psychology, Biochemical Sciences, Business and Education Studies.
The thorough and robust assessments that have led to these grades have been rigorous and tied to exam board stipulated criteria, assessment materials and mark schemes. The breadth of study has been huge, even taking into account the impact of remote and disrupted learning. The students rewarded today have been stoic in their approach to their studies.
A great deal of care and dedication from our teaching staff has ensured these results were a fair reflection of attainment, could withstand scrutiny and were right for the time.
Emma Hattersley, Head, said “We would like to congratulate the Godolphin Upper Sixth cohort 2021 on the grades that they have been awarded today. After a challenging year all our students should feel pleased with their achievements and these results. As we celebrate the end of a successful year of independent learning, I am proud of our Upper Sixth who have worked so incredibly hard. We wish our students all the best for their next steps.
Our Godolphin parent community are owed our thanks and acknowledgement for their continued support. I would also like to express my sincere thanks to our dedicated staff who have provided outstanding teaching and steady guidance to our students throughout the year.”
