Informal and relaxed, the Centre runs on trust with few official rules, encouraging students to think for themselves and manage their own lives. The resident boarding team are always on hand to provide support and keep an eye on things, but ultimately, the students organise their own study, social and sleep time. Our rich and varied activities programme is intended to inspire them to try new things and look outwards, so they can evolve into confident women that will thrive in a fast-moving global society.
Set in beautiful gardens, the Sixth Form Centre is and made up of two houses – Jerred and School House and is staffed by four full-time Centre Staff and their families. It is this distinctive mix of adults, children and pets that creates a real sense of home-from-home. The Centre is well resourced for academic and social activities and Sarums are provided with their own individual study areas. The accommodation is of a high standard with single and double study bedrooms, TV rooms, fully equipped kitchens, a games area and relaxation rooms that make it a lovely place to be.
The Centre staff are supported by a team of four House Tutors as well as the Head of Sixth Form and Careers Adviser who are based in the Centre. The academic Sixth Form tutors are available in the Centre between 4 and 6pm every weekday and there’s an extensive range of higher education resources as well as a careers office and careers library in Jerred House.
