On Sunday 11 October we took a group of Lower Sixth Art & Design students along the Kennet and Avon canal to gain first-hand studies for their AS Art course. Their theme was Industrial Landscape originally inspired by a residential trip to Birmingham that was unfortunately cancelled because of Covid.
We started at the Crofton Engine house near Marlborough taking pictures of the beam engines and boilers. We progressed through Pewsey, Honey Street and Devizes ending up at Caen Locks and Foxhangers Wharf. We stopped along the way to take photographs and to find inspiration. The students will use these images to take this current project forward when they return to the art studios.
