The Salisbury Soroptimist STEM Challenge 2019-20.
Back in March, two days before our first lockdown, a team of Godolphin students visited South Wiltshire UTC for the final judging of Salisbury Soroptimist's 2019-20 STEM Challenge. Soroptimist International is an organisation who work to transform women and girl's lives, promoting peace and their roles within the world. Their STEM Challenge seeks to raise girl's awareness of inspiring career opportunities within Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.
The entrants were challenged to design a system or product that could improve lives in the developing world. The Godolphin team of Amelia, Milly, Jinjwen and Rebecca submitted their idea for an irrigation system to grow crops on roofs of houses, and we are very proud to say our team won.
A huge well done to all!
