“ An excellent evening and my daughter was really inspired, not least by the calibre and confidence of the OG women who presented. ”
On Friday 31 January, we welcomed Astrid Forsyth from Bath University and four Alumnae to talk about the many ways in which languages, ancient and modern, boost employability, at our Bright Futures with Languages event. Our thanks to Jenny Beard from EY; Ele Frere from PR firm Firefly Communications; Amelia Talfourd-Cook, training as a solicitor with Stevens and Bolton; and Sophie Kippen, Assistant Head of Space Policy at the MOD - all of whom talked about the ways that learning languages had helped them get into their chosen careers, and given them the communication skills, confidence and resilience to thrive in their work.
Parents, students from other schools, and our own girls all benefited from hearing from these young women. They have made it to the other side of A-levels, degrees, and job interviews - and returned to Godolphin to share some great advice.
