Dr Frances Sands' Lecture
To start off Arts Week here at Godolphin, OG Dr Frances Sands returned to school to give a lecture on the importance of the arts. Dr Sands who is a Curator of Drawings & Books at the Sir John Soane's Museum London, gave an interesting and insightful talk titled 'The Vital Importance of the Arts'. The girls enjoyed hearing from a previous Godolphin girl who has made her way into the world of the arts. Our History of Art girls thoroughly enjoyed the lecture.
"I found Frances Sands' talk really inspiring as she spoke about how her degree in History of Art has lead her to working at the Sir John Soane's gallery as the Catalogue Editor in the curating department. I also really enjoyed learning about Greek architecture which she said was her favourite aspect of art of which she is really passionate." Camilla Anderson, Upper Sixth History of Art student
