Classics

Classics is undergoing a renaissance at Godolphin with GCSE and A-level numbers doubling, in just one year. Studying Classics allows students to approach the Ancient World through literature, art, history, philosophy, linguistics and archaeology.  Linguistically, to learn Latin or Greek is to learn about language. We offer a systematic approach to grammar, emphasizing the links between Latin and modern languages.  But you also get to study some of the finest literature ever written – the basis of our culture.  Firing a huge catapult (on Roman morning) and drawing hippopotami (all year round) come as standard.
