Godolphin prides itself on having a strong Duke of Edinburgh contingent at all three levels of Bronze, Silver and Gold. The award provides a balanced programme of activities that develops the whole person – mind, body and soul – in an environment of social interaction and team working.
The girls progress through three levels of programme to achieve their awards and there are four sections to the awards: volunteering, physical, skills and expedition. Each level demands progressively more time, commitment and responsibility. At the Gold level there is also a residential section. Many of the Godolphin girls complete their Gold award in their Upper Sixth year.
Once a girl has signed up to the programme, she is expected to commit to the year, with parents prepared to release their daughters for the expeditions over a weekend or part of the holiday period. We have a group of volunteer parent who help with the expeditions and the girls undertake the appropriate training weekends and practice before embarking on their assessed expeditions.
