Nursery Curriculum

Learning through play
We create learning experiences around the girls: we support individual interests from a young age by listening to our girls and working with our parents to find out what interests them. Girls have time to be engrossed and to complete activities without having an overly restrictive curriculum.

Girls learning through child-led activities

Problem-solving, creativity and role-play make up much of the day. Skill development is learned through play with literacy and numeracy developed and extended creatively, through ‘real’ and imaginary experiences in our ‘castle’, the ‘home corner’, and ‘doctor’s surgery’.

Outdoor Learning

Girls thrive on fresh air and are stimulated by their natural surroundings. The Nursery outdoor learning, with its practical hands-on approach to discovery in the outdoor environment, is a vital component of our curriculum. Girls have plenty of outdoor space for imaginative role-play, adventure play and environmental learning. They can play in trees, plant vegetables and learn by exploring the world, which they inhabit.  These experiences provide an outdoor extension to what is learned inside.
