What can the GPA do for you?

Ring Round for New Parents

 

  • All parents of new pupils receive a call before the first exeat, asking how their child has settled in and checking whether there are any concerns or issues either the parents or the pupil would like addressed.

Talk to Parents and/or School

  • This year, we held a talk on drugs by Jonnie Leach a reformed addict, this was held in the PAC on Sunday 8th March for parents and Monday the 9th for the students.

First Year Parents Lunch

  • One of the first year parents hosts a lunch to which all other first year parents are invited.  A chance to meet other families, organise car shares, socialise.

Third Year Parents Lunch

  • Hosted by a third year parent, a similar occasion to meet parents of new pupils joining the third year.

Uniform

  • Regular review meetings are held with John Lewis the school uniform supplier throughout the year and uniform fitters can visit the school. 

Presentation Mornings

  • Committee members meet potential parents, explain the role of the GPA and answer any questions they may have. Click Here to view this academic years presentation mornings.

GPA/Housemistresses Supper

  • An opportunity for all parents and pupils to meet informally within each house.  Sometimes an outside speaker will give a talk on a subject of interest to parents prior to the supper. September 27th, 2009 - Click Here for more information

GPA AGM

  • 20th November 2009 at 2.15pm.  An opportunity to meet the Governors and understand their role.

Bonfire Night

  • Parents and children share supper and watch a firework display together in the school grounds. November 6th, 2009 at 6.15pm

Support to 6th Form Job Interview Forum

  • GPA assists by providing individuals to run workshops, assist in mock interviewing and role playing and arranging for employers to talk about requirements from their perspective as well as answering any questions the students may have

New Parents Day

  • Short speech by the Chairman, Katie Browne.  Committee members attend to introduce themselves and talk to new parents about their Godolphin experience.

Speech Day

  • Committee members run a tent offering complimentary champagne before the speeches and prize giving.
