GRADUATE GAP ASSISTANT (LACROSSE)
September 2018 – July 2019

We seek a candidate with significant expertise in Lacrosse and to work with a department which is highly committed and confident. 

They will be expected to teach Lacrosse to girls aged 11 – 18 yrs and help coach/assist with Senior and Junior teams.  Candidates should indicate their level of coaching and umpiring experience. They must be prepared to assist where necessary with our other sports: netball & hockey.  They will have a sound knowledge of sports such as basketball, volleyball, badminton, aerobics and Health Related Fitness to cater for our senior girls’ options.  They will need to be able to coach/assist with our Summer sports of tennis, athletics and rounders.

It is essential to be able to attend fixtures during the week and at weekends. A day off is given in lieu of weekend duties.  The ability to drive a school minibus, for team practices and matches would be a distinct advantage.  The successful candidate would help with administrative duties, and it may be necessary to cover for absent colleagues within the department and team teach where appropriate.  In the wider school role, the successful candidate will be responsible for some house duties and be attached to one of the three competitive houses.

GRADUATE GAP ASSISTANT (SENIOR SCHOOL)
September 2018 – July 2019

Godolphin seeks a university graduate with a keen interest in pursuing a career in teaching or working with young people in the Secondary sector.  Furthermore, you will be attached to either the Junior House for girls aged 8-12 or our Senior Boarding House for girls aged 13-16 years.

As University Graduate Gap Assistant for the Senior School, your primary responsibility will be to work alongside experienced teachers in supporting the academic and sports departments. You will also be expected to carry out a number of administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the School.  At the weekend, you will be expected to help in the boarding house or the Sports Department by accompanying trips, supervising the girls or, accompanying the Sports Department to matches. 

In the Boarding House, you will have morning and evening duties and you will also be expected to carry out some administrative tasks in the House.  The nature of a boarding community is that some shifts can be long but the job satisfaction is tremendous.

Godolphin has a Christian ethos and the successful applicant will be comfortable in supporting the spiritual life of the School.

You will work approximately 45 hours a week on average, with appropriate breaks and two days off a week.  Periodically, you may be asked to act as chaperone on weekend train journeys to and from London.  You will be expected to sleep in the accommodation provided by the school during term time and this may also be available for the Christmas and Easter holidays. Board and lodging is provided within the girls’ Boarding House.

HEAD OF RS
Required September 2018 (or earlier)
Full time, permanent

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, talented and innovative full time Head of RS to lead this very popular subject.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach RS across the Senior School (11-18) and to promote the department to increase the number of students opting to study it.  You will be an outstanding teacher who is passionate about RS, and excited about the opportunity to incorporate new technologies and innovative, varied, teaching techniques into your classroom.

We are committed to developing RS across the whole school community, and this post will involve working with us to enhance the curriculum at all levels, including liaising with staff and pupils from our Prep school to Sixth Form as well as with the EAL and Learning Support Departments.  The post would suit a teacher keen to develop his or her career by taking on significant responsibility or an experienced Head of Department keen for a new challenge.

COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING ASSISTANT

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated individual who will embrace the opportunity to shape and deliver our school’s communications and marketing strategy.

As the Communications & Marketing Assistant you will be an important cog in the marketing wheel of the school and you’ll be expected to be involved at all levels.

The Communications & Marketing Assistant will report to the Head of Marketing. This is a permanent, full time role, 52 weeks per year.  Office hours are 8am until 5pm, Monday – Friday. Annual holiday entitlement is 30 working days. There will be some evening and weekend work required to support key events. The school offers a government pension scheme, and excellent training and development opportunities.
