The successful candidate will be expected to teach Psychology in the Sixth Form and play a key role in promoting the subject further down the School in order to grow the numbers of students opting for Psychology.  You will be an outstanding teacher who is passionate about Psychology, and excited about the opportunity to incorporate new technologies and innovative, varied, teaching techniques into your classroom.

We are committed to promoting our Sixth Form across the whole school community, and this post will involve working with us to enhance the curriculum at all levels, including liaising with staff and pupils from our Prep school to Sixth Form as well as with the Learning Support and EAL Departments.

The post would suit an experienced teacher or an NQT where full support can be provided.

Teacher of English as an additional language (EAL)

(Sixth Form IELTS Specialist)

Paid Hourly, Permanent, required from September 2018

We are seeking to restructure our teaching of EAL and are looking to create a position for a Sixth Form Specialist to mainly deliver IELTS preparation to our Sixth Form students, the majority of which are from Hong Kong or mainland China.  Some of our students in need of EAL lessons are on a “three year Sixth Form”, and so would have substantially more EAL lessons in their first, foundation, year.  The appointed person would also be expected to teach some lessons to younger students as required.  A willingness to be flexible over the number of hours taught each week is essential.

It is expected that the role will initially involve some 5-10 hours per week of EAL teaching, although this is subject to confirmation, depends on take-up and may increase in the future.  The salary is £40.30 per hour for each one-to-one lesson delivered.
